Kentucky Wildcats
There is no sales pitch from a head coach that is more effective than saying that your main goal is getting players to the NBA. Few, if any, college coaches are willing to admit this, but Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari did, and it will continue to get him a lot of top recruits.
Kentucky has already had a standard offseason where they secured two five-star recruits, and one four-star recruit to solidify their Class of 2015. Uncharacteristically, however, they have missed out on multiple top recruits that looked like a lock to join the Wildcats.
Losing Maker would not be the end of the world for Kentucky, but it would sure give them an incredible addition if he were able to join the Wildcats midseason. He would be an instant starter at power forward, giving Kentucky one of the best freshman one-two punches on the interior with five-star center Skal Labissiere at center.
Both Maker and Labissiere can play on the inside and the outside, giving the Wildcats threats in the high and low post at all times. Even if he was there for only half a year, he would still have plenty of opportunities to display his skills against the best ball players in the country at the collegiate level while playing for a coach that knows what NBA teams are looking for in a prospect.
