American Athletic Conference

Lead-Pipe Lock: Cincinnati

Some Perspiration: SMU

Better Double-Up on the Deodorant: None.

SMU Mustangs, 18-4 (8-1): Now on a four-game winning streak, things are looking up for the Mustangs. For the rest of the season, they have one more major game against Cincinnati That date with Cincinnati has to be circled on the calendar as the best game remaining on the entire AAC schedule. The AAC bubble has definitely taken a tumble recently, as just SMU sits on it for the time being. It is still possible that another team (Houston or Memphis) joins them, but for now, those teams are too far off the cutline.

Quality wins: vs. TCU, @ Memphis, vs. Pittsburgh, vs. Houston

Bad losses: @ Boise State

Missed opportunities: @ USC, vs. Michigan, @ Cincinnati

Next up: vs. East Carolina (2/1), @ Tulsa (2/4)
