Pac-12 Basketball: 5 best players headed to the 2017 NBA Draft
1. Markelle Fultz – Washington
Stats: 23.2 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 5.9 APG
Draft Express Rank: No. 1
At the moment, Fultz is the consensus choice as the top draft selection. Though Washington faced tremendous struggles throughout this season, Fultz never failed to impress. In all but one contest did Fultz score in double figures. The one occasion he didn’t, he had a near triple-double of nine points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Moreover, his 23.2 points per game were the sixth-best in the nation, while his 5.9 assists per game finished as the second-best in the Pac-12.
The 6’4″ point guard made his presence felt on the defensive end as well, averaging 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per outing.
Fultz’s college career was cut short, not only because Washington failed to earn a postseason bid, but due to a knee injury that sidelined him for six of the last eight games of the season. Having not participated in combine workouts either, the last time a healthy Fultz played on a public stage was in early February.
