Chris Holtmann, Ohio State Buckeyes

Chris Holtmann earned the OSU job by keeping the “Butler way” going at Butler following Brad Stevens departure. The 45-year old led Butler to a 70-31 overall record, which includes no  season with less than 22 victories and three NCAA Tournament trips. The Bulldogs earned at least one victory in each of their three Tournament trips, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2016-17.

The 2017 John McLendon Award recipient is 114-85 in six seasons as a head coach. Holtmann was a head coach for three years at Gardner-Webb before serving one year as an assistant coach under Brandon Miller at Butler. He then took over the Bulldogs on an interim basis when Miller went on a medical leave of absence priot to the start of the 2014-15 campaign.
