Duke’s season unofficially commences on October 20 with Countdown to Craziness, a full night of entertainment headlined by the Blue-White scrimmage that is often televised on ESPN networks.

However, a pair of exhibition matches are Duke’s first opportunities against other opponents, aside from the annual “secret scrimmages” that take place in the fall. A week after Countdown to Craziness, Duke hosts Northwest Missouri State on October 27 before facing Bowie State on November 4. While neither of the exhibitions will be competitive, they are chances to test the depth of the Blue Devils’ roster.
