Early December

Michigan at North Carolina, November 29th

Michigan lost D.J. Wilson, Derrick Walton, and Zak Irvin, but can still make this an interesting game. John Beilein is a very good coach in big games, and the Wolverines could pull off the upset in Chapel Hill. Moritz Wagner will be at the center of the attack for Michigan, and he will put the young North Carolina front court to the test.

North Carolina at Davidson, December 1st

Davidson loses leading scorer Jack Gibbs (22.1 points per game), but does bring back Peyton Aldridge. Aldridge, a 6’8″ forward, averaged 20.5 points per game in 2016-17, and he will be the focal point of Davidson’s attack this season. The Wildcats finished 17-15 last season and near the middle of the Atlantic 10.

Tulane at North Carolina, December 3rd

Out of the American Athletic Conference, Tulane struggled last season. The Green Wave went just 3-15 in conference play and was a league-worst 6-25 overall. They will need to take a massive jump in success if they want to take down the Tar Heels, but you never know! North Carolina should be able to move through this stretch of games with relative ease.

Western Carolina at North Carolina, December 6th

Western Carolina is another North Carolina opponent who finished near the bottom of their conference last season. From the Southern Conference, the Catamounts were 4-14 in the conference and 9-23 overall. They do return leading scorer Haboubacar Mutombo, but it likely won’t mean much in this game.
