Eastern Illinois Panthers: Matt Bollant gets another chance. Bollant had a tumultuous five year run at Illinois, reaching the postseason just once. The 46-year-old posted a 61-94 record with the Illini though he is 343-149 in 15 seasons as a head coach.
Tennessee State Tigers: Jessica Kern is the 11th coach in Tigers’ history. Kern was an assistant coach at Furman last year though she has four-years of head coaching experience at D-II Lincoln
(Pa.) University.
USC Trojans: Mark Trakh is returning to the top chair with the Trojans. Trakh, who spent five seasons at USC from 2004-09, was previously at New Mexico State where he led the Aggies to 20 wins and NCAA Tournament appearances in each of the last three seasons. Trakh was 104-80 overall at NMSU.
Washington Huskies: Former Long Beach State head coach Jody Wynn replaces Mike Neighbors, who left for Arkansas. Wynn led the 49ers to 20 wins in each of the last three seasons. Washington won 98 games over the last four years but lost star guard Kelsey Plum to graduation.
Lafayette Leopards: Lafayette (Pa.) University chose 10-year veteran assistant coach Kia Damon as the program’s seventh head coach in program history.
Arkansas Razorbacks: Mike Neighbors returned home to take over the Razorbacks, who went 13-17 last season. Neighbors, who is an Arkansas native, led Washington to 20 wins in each of his four seasons with the Huskies — posting a 98-41 record overall. He guided the Huskies to a Final Four and Sweet 16 appearance in each of the last two years.
