PHOENIX, AZ – MARCH 22: Jae Crowder /

30. JR Augustus Gilchrist – Height: 6’10 Weight: 235 – South Florida

2010-11 stats: 13.4 ppg 6.0 rpg FG%: 45 3P%: 25 FT%: 70

Season-high points: 32 vs. DePaul – Best Big East game: 25 points and 10 rebounds vs. Louisville

The only South Florida Bull to be featured on the list, Gilchrist was by far the MVP of the team. Other teams knew it and tried to keep him from being the reason for beating them, but the 6’10 forward still found ways to put up numbers in a league full of defensive stalwarts.

29. JR Jae Crowder – Height: 6’6 Weight: 235 – Marquette

2010-11 stats: 11.8 ppg 6.8 rpg 1.6 apg 1.3 spg – FG%: 49 3P%: 36 FT%: 62

Season-high points: 29 vs. West Virginia – Best Big East game: 29 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals

If this list was about the 2011-12 season, Crowder would easily finish in the top three, as the future Big East Player of the Year had a breakout campaign without other future NBA players by his side. That being said, the forward still found a way to make a big impact for the team in this season, who should’ve finished higher in the standings considering the talent that was on the roster.

28. FR Jeremy Lamb – Height: 6’5 Weight: 180 – UConn

2010-11 stats: 11.1 ppg 4.5 rpg 1.6 apg – FG%: 49 3P%: 37 FT%: 80

Season-high points: 24 points (twice) – Best Big East game: 24 points vs. Marquette

Another future NBA player, Lamb started all 40 games for the national champion Huskies. He was merely a role player in Big East play but played his best in the NCAA tournament, including 29 versus San Diego State in the Sweet Sixteen and 19 in the Elite Eight game against Arizona.

27. SR Jonathan Mitchell – Height: 6’7 Weight: 225 – Rutgers

2010-11 stats: 14.4 ppg 5.6 rpg – FG%: 45 3P%: 39 FT%: 79

Season-high points: 25 (twice) – Best Big East game: 21 points and 10 rebounds vs. Providence

Rutgers was near the bottom once again in the league but got a great contribution from the former Florida Gator who received extended minutes with the Scarlet Knights. His play was paramount to the little success the team had this season, with Mitchell averaging 20 ppg in the six conference wins they had.

26. JR Dion Dixon – Height: 6’3 Weight 195 – Cincinnati

2010-11 stats: 11.6 ppg 2.9 rpg 1.9 apg 1.0 spg – FG%: 42 3P%: 36 FT%: 76

Season-high points: 23 vs. Miami (OH) – Best Big East game: 21 points and six rebounds vs. South Florida

Just barely cracking the list was Dixon, who was the lead guard for the Bearcats. He never put up big numbers in his 27 minutes a night of action, but his steady play and defense led Cincinnati to a top-tier finish in the league.
