Looking towards March

Starting in January, Busting Brackets releases a weekly Bracketology article, detailing which teams are in and out, as well as what seed line they’re currently in. Using our own Bracketology, here’s where each team stands when it comes to March.

In the latest version, the Big 12 has seven out of 10 teams in. But I want to take an even closer look, seeing which teams are truly safe, and who has a shot to get back in. Here’s how I view these teams when it comes to March.

Iowa State – Out (Needs a ton of work)

The Cyclones non-conference schedule was already soft, but Iowa’s implosion made it even worse. Plus, that Milwaukee loss will always be an eyesore. Five of the next six games are against ranked teams, and they need to win at least three of them to get back in consideration.

Baylor – Out (Needs a ton of work)

Speaking of wins that mean nothing now, that Wisconsin victory means the same as a win over Texas Southern. Other than Creighton, there aren’t even average wins to speak of. The Bears even lost to Iowa State. They have two games with the Sooners and a sweep might have to be in order.
