ACC Basketball: Top 10 players heading into the 2018 NBA Draft
9. Bruce Brown, Miami
Sophomore Miami Hurricanes guard Bruce Brown has decided to hire an agent and turn pro. Brown’s 2017-18 season was cut short after he underwent surgery on a stress fracture in his foot.
He averaged 11.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in 19 appearances for the Hurricanes last season. At 6-foot-5, 190-pounds, he’s got solid size and the frame to be a quality point guard in the NBA. Brown put up a triple-double in Miami’s first game of the season against Gardner-Webb. He had 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a 77-45 victory.
As a freshman, he set single-season records in points (391), field goals made (134) and minutes played (1,053). He was ready to re-write the record books in year 2 before it was derailed due to injury.
While he’s a quality point guard, he’ll need to work on his 3-point shooting going forward. He was 16-of-60 (26.7 percent) from behind the arc last year.
