10. Michael Gerren – South Alabama Jaguars (1983-1984)

Career stats: 17.7 ppg 4.6 rpg 4.2 apg

He played just two seasons with South Alabama, but Gerren was an important part of the team’s progression under Ellis. As a starter in year one, he averaged 20.5 ppg. He went to the bench the next season, but still produced 15.5 ppg, including a season-high 32 points to defeat Florida in the NIT.

9. Chris Whitney – Clemson Tigers (1992-1993)

Career stats: 14.6 ppg 3.7 rpg 6.1 apg

In just two seasons with the Tigers, Whitney made his mark as one of the best point guards in Clemson Basketball history, ranking in the top-five in assists in the ACC both years. He was an outstanding three-point shooter and defender as well, facilitating the offense for Clemson.

8. Anthony Raffa – Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (2009-2013)

Career stats: 14.3 ppg 3.5 rpg 1.9 apg

After starting his career at Albany as a starter, Raffa transferred to play for Ellis and Coastal Carolina. He steadily improved on his scoring each year, averaging 19.1 ppg his final season with the Chanticleers. He had 16 games of at least 20 points, with a career-high of 34 against Florida International.

7. Chris Porter – Auburn Tigers (1999-2000)

Career stats: 15.3 ppg 8.0 rpg 1.1 apg

After spending two years at the Junior College level, Porter dominated the SEC at Auburn. He was awarded the SEC Player of the Year and was a Second-Team All-American. That season the Tigers went 29-4, making it to the Sweet Sixteen. He also once again led the team in scoring his senior season as well.
