3. Ron Baker – Wichita State Shockers (2013-2016)

Career stats: 13.2 ppg 4.2 rpg 2.8 apg

A starter for four seasons, Baker was an incredibly efficient scorer who ranked in the top-10 in just about every single category in the Missouri Valley Conference. He was an elite three-point shooter who guarded the opposing team’s best perimeter player.

It’s not a surprise that a player like Baker is one of the winningest players in program history, with three conference championships and a bunch of wins in the Big Dance on his college resume.

2. Cleanthony Early – Wichita State Shockers (2013-2014)

Career stats: 15.1 ppg 5.7 apg 0.7 apg

He went from being a Junior College star to one in the Missouri Valley, as well as an All-American. Where Early made his mark the most with the Shockers was in the postseason, including a 21 point effort against Pitt and a 24 point, 10 rebound performance versus Louisville in the Final Four.

He also was the lead scorer of Wichita State’s 34-0 team to start the season, dropping 31 points against a very under-seeded Kentucky squad. He played a crucial part in the best pair of seasons in program history.

1. Fred VanVleet – Wichita State Shockers (2013-2016)

Career stats: 10.2 ppg 3.3 rpg 4.5 apg

One of the best players in program history, VanVleet was the architect of the recent golden era for the Shockers. He’s the all-time assist leader in school history and recorded the team’s first triple-double in nearly 50 years.

VanVleet is one of nine players to win multiple Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year Awards (sophomore and senior years) and was given All-American mentions.

Because there were other great offensive players, he didn’t have to score as much. However, VanVleet performed in whatever way needed for the team to win. His leadership attributes also played a part in both Marshall and Wichita State’s success in those great years and paved the groundwork for the future Shockers under this coach.
