SG Devon Hall, Oklahoma City Thunder

School: Virginia

Pick: 53rd Overall

Height/Weight/Age: 6-5/211/22

Devon Hall’s senior season in Charlottesville put him on the map. Hall made 43% of his free throws while putting together an average of 11.7 points per game. Hall is a player that developed over time after redshirting during his first season at UVA. Hall is lauded for his consistent shooting and “competent” defense. His speed and inability to finish in the paint are seen as weaknesses (per SI).

The Thunder are getting a player willing to work in Devon Hall. Billy Donovan may play him alongside the likes of Carmelo Anthony and Raymond Felton if he has a good offseason in OKC.

SG Ray Spalding, Dallas Mavericks

School: Louisville

Pick: 57th (selected by Philadelphia, rights traded to Dallas)

Height/Weight/Age: 6-3/225/21

Ray Spalding has received compliments for his low-post scoring ability. His rebounding and shot-blocking also aided his case for NBA draft selection. While his jumper and free throw are not strengths, he’s a player you want around the rim when it counts. Spalding put together a 12.3 point per game scoring average during a strong senior campaign at UL.

Ray Spalding was traded to the Mavs from the 76ers alongside final 2018 draft pick Kostas Antetokountpo. The big men will enjoy the tutelage of Mavericks fixture Dirk Nowitzki and do their part to help Dallas find some relevance.

The Atlantic Coast Conference had ten players selected in the 2018 draft. An impressive number indeed. It will be interesting to see how these players’ careers fare in the NBA over the next several years.
