SEC Basketball: Preseason rankings for 2018-19

11. Texas A&M Aggies
Texas A&M had an up-and-down season that ultimately ended in a Sweet 16 run, but the Aggies will have a hard time replicating last year’s success.
Their star frontcourt of Tyler Davis, Robert Williams, and D.J. Hogg are all gone, leaving Admon Gilder and point guard T.J. Starks are their only returning starters.
Starks (9.0 ppg, 2.3 apg) is capable of having a breakout season and really turned into a key player for the Aggies down the stretch. He averaged over 15 points and nearly four assists per game in Texas A&M’s final 12 games, headlined by a 21-point, five-assist performance in the NCAA Tournament against North Carolina.
Unfortunately for the Aggies, Starks having a breakout season won’t change their overall lack of depth and talent. They’ll be a team that can pull off some upsets during the course of the season but, in a stacked year in the conference, Texas A&M will have a tough time getting any real momentum.
