Dec. 18: Presbyterian at Butler

After just two days of rest, Butler will return home to face off against Presbyterian. In their short history in Division-I, the Blue Hose have never won more than 14 games in a season. With only 10 combined conference wins (Big South) over the course of the last three seasons, Presbyterian looks to be possibly the least difficult non-conference game for Butler. In 2017-18, Presbyterian struggled to the tune of an 11-21 (4-14 Big South) record. In addition to being a young overall program, the Blue Hose also suffered some tough losses this offseason.

Presbyterian’s top scorers last season, Reggie Dillard and Davon Bell, were both seniors and will surely be missed during this upcoming campaign. With these two gone, the program will turn to JC Younger and Francois Lewis as the only two returning double-digit scorers from last season. Presbyterian struggled to put points on the board last year (66.4 ppg, 321st nationally) and that could easily be the case once again.

Butler should be able to walk away from this game victorious and also give some youngsters playing time. Most notably, this could be a great opportunity to allow Jordan Tucker to play some extended minutes at game speed.
