Villanova Wildcats

There are not many schools in the country who have had more success with point guards in recent history than Villanova. Led by mastermind head coach Jay Wright, the Wildcats have consistently been led by some of the top point guards in the country. Just in the past few years, Jalen Brunson, Ryan Arcidiacono, Scottie Reynolds, and several others come to mind as guards who have been extremely successful while donning the Villanova jersey.

For Nico Mannion, this history may end up being hard to turn down. In addition, the Wildcats can also boast one of the best recruiting pitches in the country thanks to championship pedigree. Villanova has cut down the final nets in the NCAA Tournament in two of the last three seasons and if Mannion only wants to spend one season in college, he might as well compete for the national title. Along with the previously mentioned Duke, Villanova would be an excellent choice as a potential title contender.

However, Villanova is already being called home by Jahvon Quinerly, one of the top point guards in the 2018 recruiting class. Considering it might be unlikely that Quinerly will leave early for the NBA, the point guard position could be locked up at Villanova for the next few years. Of course, as already mentioned in the Arizona section, either player could slide to the two-guard spot and that would work out just fine, though.

In summary, whichever team lands Nico Mannion will be very excited. He is an outstanding recruit that projects as a player who can change the outlook of an entire season. All four of these programs are among the best in the country and he will make a serious impact no matter where he goes.
