Courtese Cooper – Triton College

Forward | 6-foot-9 | 205 lbs | NR – JUCO

Although an unranked JUCO transfer on 247Sports, Courtese Cooper is coming off of a Division-II national championship last season at Triton College during just his freshman season. While starting in 36 of the team’s 37 games last season, the 6-foot-9 forward averaged 10.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game. He flashed this all-around excellent play throughout the year and also showed off his entire repertoire with some versatile scoring.

Despite mostly being seen as a rim-protector, he is also a tantalizing offensive prospect due to his ability to score from just about anywhere on the floor. Over the course of his one season at Triton, Cooper shot 55.7% from the field and 38.9% from 3-point range (14-for-36). With his potential as a capable 3-point shooter and elite level shot-blocker at 6-foot-9, this could be an excellent addition to the Tigers’ program.

Due to the fact that Cooper only spent one year at Triton College before electing to transfer to LSU, he will have three total years of eligibility remaining. This should give Coach Wade and his staff plenty of time to tap into the potential of Cooper.
