St. Bonaventure Basketball: Previewing the 2018-19 season for the Bonnies

Key Reserves
Dominick Welch-Freshman
Welch was mentioned earlier in this writing as someone who the St. Bonaventure coaching staff is going to want to see on the floor as soon as possible. The sheer production of the freshman his last season in High School, would have earned him a spot to play for most teams in the country. Welch will get as many minutes as his play allows for. If he can defend and the game slows down for him quickly Welch should get many quality minutes. He will provide depth at the off guard and at the wing. Further cementing the fact that the wings are the best position group for the Bonnies.
Melkisedek Moreaux – Junior
Moreaux makes his way to Olean from Northeast Community College in Nebraska. In his final season at his JUCO he averaged a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Schmidt has done his research on Moreaux and hopes that his numbers will translate to Division 1 college basketball. Moreaux was an incredibly efficient shooter from the floor. He made almost 50% of his shots from the floor a year ago at his junior college. Moreaux is going to play and provide quality depth at the forward position. He is undersized at 6’6” but plays much bigger than that. His elite rebounding ability will help him earn more minutes.
Kyle Lofton – Freshman
Lofton enters his first year in the Bonnies program as the likely backup point guard. He will come into the game and give Kaputo a breather. Lofton can play both guard positions along with Poyser and Welch. This is going to give Coach Schmidt a lot of rotation flexibility for his backcourt. The rotation flexibility is also going to allow the Bonnies to utilize more and more favorable matchups. Lofton is going to have a long and productive career in Olean. If Kaputo is not careful or struggles at all, Lofton will find his way into the starting lineup.
