Expectations for the Buffs in 2018-2019

Barring injuries, the Buffs have a pretty high floor because of their solid depth and scoring ability. I won’t say the sky is the limit in terms of their ceiling, however, because of the top-heaviness of the Pac-12. There are three elite teams that it’s safe to say the Buffs will not finish ahead of Oregon, UCLA, and USC. That fourth spot, however, is pretty much up for grabs at this point. There’s a case to made for teams like Washington, Arizona, and Arizona State, but Colorado should be included in that group as well.

For the time being, I like the Buffs to finish at #5 in the Pac-12, which would mean a 3-spot rise in the conference standings from last season. That probably won’t be good enough for the NCAA Tournament, as the conference will likely only have 3-4 bids, but you can be sure that they’ll at least make the NIT. After this season, who knows, with the team being as young as it is, they could be a conference title contender if Wright decides to stick around.
