15. NC State Wolfpack

Record: 14-2 (2-1 ACC)

Last Week: No. 16

NC State has to be disappointed following their loss to in-state rival North Carolina but that is nothing to ashamed about from an NCAA Tournament resume perspective. On the whole, the Wolfpack hold one of the best records in the entire nation and their win over Auburn holds a lot of weight. Outside of their elite record and one high-quality win, though, NC State’s resume does not include all that much. That is what will make ACC play extremely important for the Wolfpack, who clearly have plenty of talent to finish near the top of the conference.

With a fast-paced, highly-efficient offense, NC State is one of the toughest teams to slow down in the entire nation. With that said, the ACC, as a whole, features many elite offenses and it is reasonable to assume that the Wolfpack will be featured in their fair share of shootouts over the next few months. In my opinion, NC State is one of the most exciting teams to watch in the nation and the potential for high-scoring affairs makes them even more “must-watch”.

Looking ahead, NC State will play three straight road games over the next two weeks and they will hopefully be able to escape with two victories. The Wolfpack should be favored in two of those games (against Wake Forest and Notre Dame) as well so coming away with those wins should not be too challenging. We should never underestimate how difficult it can be to win away from home, though.
