3. Senior Night for Tar Heel Trio

Saturday night’s regular season game against Duke is more than just a rivalry game, more than just a chance to win the ACC regular season title, and more than a resumé-builder. It’s the senior night for three UNC seniors, Luke Maye, Kenny Williams, and Cameron Johnson.

For thousands of UNC fans across the country, Saturday will be the last chance to see them play in the Smith Center, the last home game of their meaningful Tar Heel careers.

Be it Maye’s game-winner over Kentucky in the Sweet 16, Williams’ millions of drawn charges and floor-burns, or Johnson’s beautiful shooting stroke, Tar Heels have plenty of fond memories that will be cherished for years to come.

The senior trio accomplished quite a bit during their Tar Heel tenure:

Kenny Williams (four years):

  • 864 points, 234 rebounds, 260 assists (117 turnovers; 2.22 A:TO)
  • ACC Tournament Champion (2016)
  • ACC Regular Season Champion (2016, 2017)
  • 2017 NCAA Champion

Cameron Johnson (two years):

  • 831 points (99th), 296 rebounds, 130 assists, 128 three-pointers (41.7 3P%, third-best)
  • One of the highest single-season three-point shooting percentages at UNC (47.9 3P%)

Luke Maye (four years):

  • 1305 points, 874 rebounds (14th in UNC history), 205 assists
  • ACC Tournament Champion (2016)
  • ACC Regular Season Champion (2016, 2017)
  • 2017 NCAA Champion
  • 2017 South Regional all-tournament team
  • 2017 South Regional Most Outstanding Player
  • 2018 All-American (third-team)
  • 2018 All-ACC (first-team)
