No. 10 – Mike Daum (Forward, South Dakota State)

The player that checks in at No. 10 on this list happens to be 7th on the list of all-time scorers in college basketball, Mike Daum. The 6’9 forward who had a four-year career at South Dakota State finished with 3,067 points and averaged a double-double last season with over 25 points and 11 rebounds. Daum dominated the Summit League, leading the Jackrabbits to three league titles in four seasons.

Daum is a volume shooter who put up over 500 shots each of the last three seasons and over 180 three-pointers. This past season his three-point percentage dropped to 37%, after shooting over 42% in 2018, but his overall field goal percentage jumped from 46% to over 51% last season. Like Martin, Daum isn’t overly athletic and like McDonald, the level of competition is a question mark, but there is no question he can score and he fits the new age positionless basketball as a big man who can play on the perimeter and stretch the floor.

He can obviously rebound and is a solid defender who might struggle with quicker more athletic forwards due to a lack of quickness, but he should get some looks in the 2nd round.
