The young guard has a lot of potential

Porter may have only played in 21 games in his only season at USC, but he showed enough positive attributes that he should hear his name called in the first round. Porter’s biggest asset is his explosive athleticism. He has some serious jumping ability, with a 34-inch vertical, and is adept at putbacks and tip-ins on the offensive end.

His jumping ability isn’t his only strength, though. He has the ability to score from all three levels on the floor, shooting 41% from three and almost 44% after coming back from injury in December. His 6-foot-4 frame is nearly ideal for a shooting guard and he is a very good ball handler who can get his own shot off the dribble. Couple that with his explosive quickness and he is a very good slasher with the ability to finish at the rim.

Porter is a good rebounder for his size, pulling down four per game for the Trojans and, if he has the ball in his hand, he is an adequate playmaker who can pitch in some assists as well. He is a decent defender who can guard either backcourt position and with a wingspan of 6-9 and his quickness could also defend some small forwards.
