Zed Key – Glen Head, NY

SF | 6-foot-8 | 215 lbs | No. 291 overall

After flying under the radar for a long time, Zed Key is starting to attract plenty of high-major attention as a dynamite forward. He has received countless offers as of late, including one from Wisconsin. The Badgers definitely seem to be a threat in this recruitment but it will be difficult to snag his commitment following the recent rise in his number of suitors. At 6-foot-8 and 215 pounds, he can play at either forward position and has excelled when playing with an elite point guard in Andre Curbelo. The two have formed a dynamic duo while both rising up the national rankings.

Key improved significantly over the course of the summer and he is looking every bit of being ranked significantly higher than just inside the nation’s top-300. The size was already there, but he is now a blossoming post scorer with the ability to put the ball on the deck and make plays on his one. Key is far more assertive than he used to be on the court and that is a direct result of his improved skill. You would be hard-pressed to find a player that used the summer to positively develop better than Key.

It feels, though, as it Key’s recruitment is only just beginning. Due to the fact that he was a late-bloomer with regards to rankings and scouting, it is impossible to determine an early favorite. So many big names only joined recently and it is hard to pinpoint which programs are going to prioritize him. Wisconsin is certainly hoping to bring him to campus for an official visit and the coaching staff will work from there.
