No. 5 – Texas A&M Aggies

With the 3rd most unwatchable offense last year, (trailing only Syracuse and Penn State and ranking in the bottom half in the nation in all five Watchability categories) A&M’s brain trust decided to throw out Coach Billy Kennedy and his played out defensive-oriented system and embrace the analytics movement with the hire my favorite coaches, Buzz Williams.

At the helm of the Virginia Tech program last year, Williams offense ranked as the 4th most watchable offense, with his squad ranking inside the top 50 in every Watchability stat except for Pace of Play. Teamwork oriented and efficient, Williams offense was an absolute joy to watch during his time with the Hokies, and he shouldn’t have a problem translating it to his new Aggies squad that sees its top 3 scorers and minute getters return from last season.

And if you’re worried about Williams being able to compete in what now seems like the best conference in the nation, the SEC, his two previous coaching stints were with teams in the ACC and Big East (when it was THE Big East) and more than held his own including winning two Big East regular-season titles with Marquette. Don’t sleep on this A&M squad, and make sure you tune in every time they’re on a national broadcast.
