5) Florida A&M

Competing in the MEAC with teams like NC Central and Norfolk State, two teams that seem to always be at the top of the league, it is no doubt that Florida A&M needs to do whatever they can to get ready to compete with them. Playing teams that are said to be better than those two squads is certainly a start.

Notable Opponents

@ Southern Cal (Nov. 5)

@ Hawai’i (Nov. 8)

@ Seton Hall (Nov. 23)

@ Kansas State (Dec. 2)

@ Tennessee (Dec. 4)

@ Washington State (Dec. 19)

@ Iowa State (Dec. 31)

A down year for the PAC 12 a season ago did not allow us to see many great things from Southern Cal and Washington State. That is not to say they will not be better this year. Both will provide the Rattlers the opportunity to play power conference opponents that are hungry to get back on track.

A trip to Hawai’I in the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic will bring the typical challenges that being on the road in college basketball will bring. Tennessee is looking to bounce back despite losing much of its productivity, but the matchup with the Volunteers will be a good opportunity to see the maturity of the Rattlers.

The games against Iowa State and Seton Hall will certainly be the toughest, as both teams are among the favorites to win their respective conferences this season. The matchups with these two may not go well for the Rattlers, but at least they will get the opportunity to face off against two teams that are looking to make noise nationally once again.

Even if no victories come out of this slate, Florida A&M will be ready to take on the top teams in the MEAC.
