4) Prairie View A&M

Prairie View is our first example of a SWAC school that does whatever they can to ensure they will have the upper hand in conference games… even if it means putting yourself through possible despair during the non-conference part of the season.

Although not as difficult as this year’s schedule, their schedule last year was very challenging; however, it was definitely a big reason they were able to only drop one game in conference play. Let’s take a look at those tough opponents Prairie View will take on this year.

Notable Opponents

@ UCF (Nov. 9)

@ Texas (Nov. 15)

@ California (Nov. 18)

Georgia State (Nov. 22)

@ Arizona State (Dec. 11)

@ Colorado (Dec. 19)

@ Seton Hall (Dec. 22)

Of those opponents, UCF and Georgia State are interesting cases that both have lost a lot of their production from a season ago, but nonetheless, both were NCAA Tournament teams last season

It is said that Texas will get back on the right track this year, and the PAC 12 trio of Arizona State, Colorado, and California are all worthy power conference opponents that will be huge favorites against the Panthers this season.

The biggest test and the best matchup that will allow this team to grow is the game with Seton Hall. Prairie View will get the opportunity to face off against one of the best scorers in the country in Myles Powell.

I could see Prairie View keeping it close in a couple of these, but I honestly see the benefits of these games coming in conference play for the Panthers.
