Rising – Markus Howard

He might just be the best scorer in college basketball, and despite his limitations, front offices cannot ignore his scoring prowess.

Markus Howard might be the most explosive scorer in all of college basketball. For the second consecutive season, the five-foot-eleven senior is averaging over 25 points per game and through 10 games this year he’s doing it on a blazing 46.8 percent shooting clip (on 8.6 attempts per game!) from downtown.

He caught the world’s attention when he dropped 51 points on USC earlier this season, and that came just a day after he dropped 40 points on Davidson. It seems every year there are explosive scorers like this in college basketball, but Howard is trying to show he’s different.

Scoring will be his calling card and a skill that never goes away, but what he needs to do next is show he can be more than just a scorer.

If the Golden Eagles can go on a run as the season progresses, Howard can continue to see his draft stock soar as the calendar turns over on a new year.
