12. Duquesne Dukes 13-2 (3-0 in Atlantic 10)

The back-to-back losses to both UAB and Marshall to end non-conference play confirmed to some that Duquesne was overrated after their 10-0 start to the season. But those who left the bandwagon are now coming back after two quality wins over Davidson and Saint Louis to start league play. The Dukes have one of the strongest starting lineups in the A-10, led by Marcus Weathers and Sincere Carry. Games against the bottom-tier teams await them the rest of this month.

11. East Tennessee State Buccaneers 14-3 (3-1 in Southern)

ETSU has gone through the toughest part of the SoCon, playing three road games and taking on three of the top teams in the league. Going 3-1 is an accomplishment, including just beating UNC-Greensboro at their place in a close contest. Until their rematch with the Spartans with February 1st, the Buccaneers could very well go on a run to stay near the top of the standings.

10. Saint Mary’s Gaels 14-3 (1-1 in WCC)

The Gaels had a pair of road games to enter WCC play. They took care of San Francisco, in what was supposed to be their toughest battle last week. But it turned out that Pacific was the true pitfall, falling to the Tigers in four overtimes. It’s not the devastating loss that it’s been the last few years but Saint Mary’s now needs to beat BYU to avoid falling towards the NCAA bubble.
