Play with Energy

One thing that UConn has had a problem with and it’s really been all season is coming out flat, they came out flat again last weekend with Wichita before they finally got the ball rolling in the second half. The crowd for that game was a big factor willing the Huskies on as they launched a late comeback attempt. They won’t have the crowd this weekend.

Guys were getting after it and showing emotion, it looked like a different team. UConn needs to come out with that same energy for a full forty-minute contest and they should have a chance. If they come out flat and fall behind early again, they’ve shown that they really struggle to get back in and take control of games.

This is a chance to knock off an old and future Big East rival and let the rest of the AAC know that UConn won’t roll over this year. If they can take the life out of The Pavillion and punch Villanova in the mouth who knows what can happen.

Playing with energy doesn’t mean playing out of control, a little over 14 turnovers per game is certainly not good and it starts with the guards, they need to take care of the basketball better, no lazy passes like we’ve seen a lot from them this season.
