10. San Jose State

There is an argument to be made that San Jose State should be a spot higher than I have them ranked. Their two wins are surprisingly strong, having beaten New Mexico and Nevada. However, Fresno State, the team I ranked ahead of them, beat them pretty easily a couple of weeks ago. San Jose State also hasn’t been particularly competitive outside of those two wins. 4 of their 5 losses have come by double digits and one of those was at home against Utah State, which looks much worse now than it did at the time.

This week only included one game for them and it didn’t go as they would have hoped. That game came on Wednesday in Vegas and saw them lose by 11 after giving up a staggering 60 points in the second half.

It’s unfortunate for SJSU that they only played the one game this week because a win during the week likely would have seen climb a spot or two in these rankings. However, unlike the team below them, they could make a big move in the rankings next week. their next two games come against New Mexico, who they’ve already beaten, and Air Force at home. These are a perfect couple of opportunities to move themselves up the boards next week after barely getting stuck in 10th this week.
