NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 2020 classes prior to spring
8. Oklahoma State Cowboys (4 commits)
Average Class Ranking: 8.0
Oklahoma State has not reached the NCAA Tournament in three years under head coach Mike Boynton. The future, though, looks especially bright for the program considering the amount of talent coming in from the 2020 class. This group is already completely stacked and there is room for another star to potentially join the mix in the near future as well.
Cade Cunningham, the top-rated player in the entire nation for the 2020 class, is the lead commit for Oklahoma State. He is a 6-foot-6 combo guard that can do just about everything on the floor. Cunningham boasts elite-level court vision, can score at all three levels, and is also a top defender. His talent is simply undeniable and he will instantly become OK State’s best player next season.
Rondel Walker is the other Top 100 recruit for the Cowboys and he could slide next to Cunningham during this coming campaign. He is a 6-foot-2 shooting guard ranked at No. 94/105 in the class. Walker can function at either backcourt slot with strong playmaking and elite-level defense.
This group is then rounded out by a pair of forwards in Matthew Alexander-Moncrieffe (No. 151/NR) and Montreal Pena (No. 313/NR). This class is extremely well-balanced with pieces that can make immediate impacts and some that will develop over time.
