2. Filip Petrusev (Gonzaga)

The native of Serbia was a problem for teams in the nation this year. He averaged 17 points, seven rebounds, and one assist on 56% from the field. I think the most eye-popping stats is that he drew 7.7 fouls per 40 minutes which ranked fourth in the nation.

The thing that makes Petrusev different from most modern-day big man is that his scoring production comes mainly from his back to the basket. He does little from behind the arc and if he does get a jump shot it is almost a wrap to stop the big man.

Petrusev put up some gaudy number in the WCC. He ranked third in scoring, second in rebounding and fourth in field goal percentage. Petrusev’s has come along way from not starting in his freshman year to being one of the most dominant players in NCAA Basketball. Gonzaga was already supposed to be a one seed this year in the NCAA Tournament and if Petrusev keeps improving. Gonzaga and is going to be a bigger headache for teams in WCC and in the Nation.
