Duke Blue Devils

Duke is yet another blueblood program in this final list that consistently experiences a ton of recruiting success. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski is a true coaching legend, and there is an obvious appeal to spending a single college season under his leadership. The Blue Devils are a constant presence in the headlines and are annual contenders for the national title as well.

Duke currently boasts a pair of five-star guards in Jeremy Roach and DJ Steward that are expected to lead the way during this coming season. Both of those 2020 commits are ranked in the Top 25 of the class, though, and could be one-and-done prospects. Chandler would thus possibly be able to immediately slide into the starting point guard spot in their absences or even be paired with Roach for a dynamic duo.

Either way, Duke will surely land one of the best 2021 classes in the entire nation and the program seems to have a clear view of its priorities. As of right now, Duke already has one commit in the class in the form of talented wing A.J. Griffin (No. 7 recruit). Additionally, the Blue Devils are one of the three schools in the final lists for Chandler and Banchero – Tennessee and Kentucky are the others.

Chandler seems to be Duke’s primary target at the point guard slot right now and he is the lone prospect offered at the position. The Blue Devils hold both crystal ball predictions for his commitment on 247Sports at the moment as well, although those picks were made in February.

On the whole, this recruitment is difficult to read. Kentucky, Tennessee, and Duke appear to be in the best positions to potentially land the commitment but all five should be considered viable contenders. No matter what, Kennedy Chandler is the type of top-tier floor general that will be a high-level one-year contributor at the college level. All five programs would be ecstatic to add him.
