Why you should know Bishop

The redshirt senior enters his fifth year in college as fourth as a player. He hopes his last year is the best. As mentioned, Bishop played his first three years as a college basketball player in the WAC as a member of the UMKC Kangaroos. The guard was one of the best in the WAC during his tenure. Bishop scored over 1,000 points during his three seasons as a member of the Kangaroos.

Bobcat fans are going to love Bishop for several reasons. He is a great shooter from deep which also fits into the way coach Sprinkle coaches this team. The great guards who have come through Bozeman have all been tremendous shooters and have racked up a ton of points in a variety of ways. Bishop brings a ton of experience with him to Bozeman as well. In his career, he has shown he can play a ton of minutes and has started over 60 games in his career. In total, the guard has played over 100 games. Due to his redshirt year, the guard will turn 23 before the season starts and be one of the oldest players in the league.

Montana State saw Frey graduate last year and desperately needed some leadership in the backcourt. Coach Sprinkle has a player who can pick up the slack on the offensive end and is a great distributor. Bishop is going to get his teammates involved which will then allow the offense to work as it was intended. The guard averaged around three assists per game over his career at UMKC and is going to provide this offense with a true boost. The senior also gives coach Sprinkle a lot of lineup flexibility as he can successfully play both guard positions.
