NCAA Basketball: Ranking 2021 4-Star G James White’s top 12 schools
By Ian Mumm
7. Georgia Bulldogs
Tom Crean was unable to push his team into NCAA Tournament contention, despite signing the top player in the 2019 class. Anthony Edwards lacked sufficient support for the team to succeed in a tough SEC conference, but he was electric on the floor and showcased tremendous potential within Crean’s system. The Bulldogs were extremely top-heavy and only had 2 players eclipse the 10 PPG mark.
Efficient inside the 3-point line, Georgia’s offense was too one-dimensional to contend in conference play. White’s addition to the home state program would help to provide a new dynamic to the program and increase the efficacy of pick-and-roll guard Sahvir Wheeler. The Bulldogs will be looking for several new leading scoring options with a jumbled roster in 2020, but the potential talent in 2021 is something that can’t be ignored with regard to who may sign with White.
Crean is currently chasing top-5 forwards Michael Foster Jr., who can stretch and hit any shot on the floor, and Jabari Smith, as well as 4-star guard Tyrese Hunter. If the Bulldogs can land a couple of these targets, in addition to developing players on the roster, this team could easily be in the tournament in 2021.
