7. Kevin McGeehan – Campbell (2013-2020)

Before getting his collegiate head coaching career started, McGeehan began as an unheralded player at Gettysburg College. He spent a great number of years on Chris Mooney’s coaching staff, particularly at Air Force and Richmond. While also a former high school coach, McGeehan had been at Richmond for eight years when Campbell brought him aboard in 2013, taking over a program with just one NCAA Tournament appearance in their history.

While Campbell hasn’t reached the NCAA Tournament under McGeehan, they’ve certainly come much closer than in recent memory. The 2019 Camels team won the regular-season title but faltered in the conference tournament, settling instead for the NIT. Campbell had made postseason appearances in the previous two seasons and seemed to be building towards something, though this past season was a step backward as the team reloaded.

McGeehan remains with Campbell and the task ahead remains the same. Getting the Fighting Camels towards postseason success is no easy task, but McGeehan is off to a solid start. If he can find another talented star like Chris Clemons, then big things could be ahead for this program.
