NCAA Basketball: Ranking 2021 5-star Harrison Ingram’s top 6 schools
By Ian Mumm
Purdue Boilermakers
The other Big Ten program on Ingram’s list has received significant interest from the Dallas native. He loved his official visit with the program during last season and spoke with Sports Illustrated about it. “That atmosphere is tough to match, and I love their plan for my future…They think I can come in and make an impact right away, and fill a role that they have not had.” The Boilermakers have not had a strong wing prospect come through the program aside from Vince Edwards in the last two decades.
Ingram adds a ton of value to a team that has been very reliant on solid play from their guards and forwards. Purdue plays a physical game and love to shoot from the perimeter. Ingram checks both of those boxes with the ability to create for the rest of the offense and move around all over the floor. The Boilermakers became a very inefficient shooting team in 2019 without a solid primary backcourt weapon to space the floor.
With incoming backcourt weapons in Jaden Ivey and Ethan Morton, depth has been restored to the Purdue program. Adding in Ingram will only open the floor that much more to elevate the potential of this offense to be near the top of the conference. He can be an extremely lethal weapon in this conference and there’s plenty of opportunities for him to make a name for himself in the black and gold.
