NCAA Basketball: Where will five-star F Brandon Huntley-Hatfield end up?
Baylor Bears
The historically good past season for the Bears could be even better for the upcoming year with star guards MaCio Teague and Jared Butler coming back. They’re a preseason top-3 team in 2020-21 and have legit national title potential, led by upperclassmen throughout the roster. None of them will be around by the time Huntley-Hatfield would come around but that doesn’t mean there won’t be any talented prospects for the team.
Baylor already has built an elite 2021 recruiting class, led by top-30 commits Langston Love and Kendall Brown. There’s a real chance that both players will be around for another year after, giving Huntley-Hatfield some quality talent to work with. This program has a ton of momentum and if next season goes accordingly, could have even more five-stars in the picture.
Georgetown Hoyas
Even with the current turmoil with the program via the roster exodus, head coach Patrick Ewing is still bringing in talent this offseason. The Hoyas already have three commits in the 2021 class, including forward Jalin Billingsley. For Huntley-Hatfield, he’d have a prime role on the team as the go-to scorer and play for a historically good Big East program.
The obvious concern in this recruitment is whether or not Coach Ewing even makes it to fill out the 2022 recruiting class. The team hasn’t taken the next step in the few seasons he’s been around and the last half of the past year has if anything, been a step back for the program. If Georgetown has another bottom-3 finish in the Big East, this prospect would be committing to a new head coach.
