Baylor Bears

Biggest needs: Power forward or point guard

The Bears have been phenomenal already with their 2021 class, landing five-star wing Kendall Brown and top-30 shooting guard Langston Love. Jeremy Sochan’s commitment has flown under the radar compared to the other two but he’s ranked as a top-100 forward prospect. Ranked No. 3 overall and building on a likely preseason top-5 team for next season, Scott Drew and Baylor have maximum momentum going forward.

With a starting lineup filled with three seniors and a star junior in Jared Butler likely to go pro, the Bears are going to be fairly young in the following season. A grad transfer may be the best way to go but for depth purposes, adding another frontcourt piece alongside Sochan isn’t a bad option. But right now, Baylor can rest of their spectacular offseason haul so far.

Iowa State Cyclones

Biggest needs: Shooting guard or center

The Cyclones arguably are in need of a ton of talent, finishing next to last in the Big 12 this past season and have to replace a potential lottery pick in Tyrese Haliburton as well. They added a trio of transfers, including guards Tyler Harris and Jalen-Coleman Lands, along with combo forward Blake Hinson. With Coleman-Lands as a grad transfer, along with returning lead guard Rasir Bolton possibly leaving after next season, adding a two-guard in the class will be important.

Iowa State adding four-star point guard Tyrese Hunter this offseason is a good step in their rebuild, while already having top-100 center Xavier Foster on the roster. With forward Solomon Young leaving after this upcoming season, having another frontcourt weapon for depth is needed, with three-star prospect David Joplin a potential target. With two projected spots left, a shooting guard and power forward should be a priority.
