Oklahoma Sooners
Of the remaining programs left on Alexander’s list, the Sooners have been after him the longest by far. Offering him over 2 years ago, Coach Lon Kruger has kept constant tabs on the in-state scoring machine to be the next great scoring guard to don the program’s jersey.
The commitment Tuesday night of 2021 guard CJ Noland could have a positive influence on if Alexander decides to stay home and play for Oklahoma. Noland vocalized his immediate goal will be to do everything he can to ensure 5-star center Daimion Collins signs with the program as well.
Collins is a teammate Team Griffin teammate of Alexander’s and the pair know each other well, an aspect that cannot be ignored in his decision on the school. However, current 2021 Sooner point guard commit Bijan Cortes is yet another one of Alexander’s teammates from the Griffin program. The Oklahoma roster is in a major state of flux, with the 2021 season likely to be the first major test between a rebuild and attempt at contending within the conference.
The Sooners will likely be relying on many pieces initially to figure their rotation, but Alexander’s versatility on the court makes him a prime candidate to garner big minutes. Alongside sharpshooting guard Trey Phipps and the physical aforementioned Noland, Oklahoma could put forth a very dynamic backcourt trio.
However, the Sooners will need Alexander’s reliability scoring on the perimeter to help balance out the team’s offensive plans and avoid becoming too one-dimensional. He could significantly make life easier for Oklahoma’s future.
