Milwaukee Bucks – Draft Patrick Williams

The shocking Eastern Conference semifinals loss to Miami has the franchise on the clock when it comes to the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo. At pick No. 24, the Bucks aren’t going to draft a starter that can make them even better for next season, so free agency/trades will have to be the way to go.

The best option for Milwaukee at No. 24 would be someone with a high ceiling that can be a future starter. My suggestion is Williams, a former five-star forward that was highly productive in limited time. The 6’8 power forward could even be a potential replacement for Antetokounmpo a year from now.

Minnesota Timberwolves – Take Anthony Edwards and best big available at No. 17

Minnesota won the lottery and has the No. 1 overall pick. And assuming they don’t trade out of it, the best thing to do is not get cute and draft Georgia star guard Edwards. With D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns as the franchise stars, it simply doesn’t make sense to pick either Ball or Wiseman at No. 1. Edwards is a 20 ppg scorer at the next level and could be a superstar in his own right.

With another first-round selection, landing whichever big man available is the top option. They can hope either Vernon Carey Jr. or Precious Achiwua lands at 17 but the ultimate goal is to provide some defensive and rebounding help for Towns inside. With how strong the west is now, the Wolves can’t afford to miss this time around or risk losing the guys already on the roster.
