14. team. 431. . . . Eagles

The Boston College Eagles finished the 2019-20 season with a 7-13 record in the ACC and were 13-19 overall. Certainly not great, but when you compare that to previous seasons dating back to 2015-16 when they went 0-18 in the ACC, they’re trending in the right direction.

In addition to the fact that they’re improving year over year, for the most part, Boston College has had some pretty big wins over the past few seasons, they beat 18th ranked Virginia this season, beat 11th ranked Florida State the year before, and beat top-ranked Duke, the season before.

What this means is Boston College is capable of competing with the best in not only the ACC, but the nation, but can they do it consistently? Unfortunately for the Eagles, the answer to that question is no.

Boston College finished the 2019-20 season with a -184 score differential… they won 13 total games and still scored 184 points less than their opponents over the course of the season. Why does this matter? This matters because while the Eagles might have a couple of big wins over the past few seasons, those might be flukes.

When BC loses, they lose hard and they showed that last season, and unfortunately for the Eagles, they lost their second, third and fourth leading scorers from the 2019-20 season, their second and third leading rebounders, and their top assist man.

This being said, the Eagles lost a lot of their talent from the 2019-20 season, and with that, here is what their 2020-21 roster is going to look like:

  • Abe Atiyeh, Freshman, Guard
  • DeMarr Langford Jr., Freshman, Guard
  • Justin Vander Baan, Freshman, Center
  • CJ Felder, Sophomore, Forward
  • Jay Heath, Sophomore, Guard
  • Kamari Williams, Sophomore, Forward
  • Andrew Kenny, Sophomore, Forward
  • Jonathan Noel, Sophomore, Guard
  • Wynston Tabbs, Junior, Guard
  • Makai Ashton-Langford, Redshirt Junior, Guard
  • Luke Kraljevic, Senior, Forward/Center
  • Sam Holtze, Senior, Guard
  • James Karnik, Senior, Forward/Center
  • Will Jackowitz, Senior, Forward
  • Steffon Mitchell, Senior, Forward
  • Frederick Scott, Graduate Student, Forward
  • Andre Adams, Graduate Student, Forward
  • Rich Kelly, Graduate Student, Guard

Boston College has a loaded roster with a total of 18 players, five of them being walk-ons. They have some key returners in Jay Heath who was their leading scorer last season and third in assists, and Steffon Mitchell who was their fifth-leading scorer, leading rebounder, and was second in assists.

In addition to Heath and Mitchell, the Eagles also added a four-star freshman in Demarr Langford, and a three-star in Justin Vander Baan, plus four transfers in Andre Adams who was ranked as a three-star transfer, James Karnik, Frederick Scott, and Rich Kelly.
