5. An epic 40-0 run

Ok, this one happened right at the end of the previous week, but the thoughts of it are still too good to ignore. If you pay attention to sports it is not unusual to see a 40-0 run in football but in basketball? That is nearly unheard of and actually, with two Division one teams, it had been until Ohio did it to Cleveland State last Sunday.

The Bobcats fresh off a near-upset of Illinois took the frustrations out on the Vikings. Scoring the last five points of the first half and then the first 35 of the second half they set an NCAA record scoring 40 straight. It was the “key” run in their 55 point win.

The Oklahoma Sooners scored 39 straight against Weber State in 2014 for the previous record, but Ohio topped in what could surely be a once in a lifetime happening in college basketball.

Ohio clearly outmatched the Vikings, but to score 40 straight is just ridiculous. Even the best teams give up points to bad teams as they can usually at least luck into some made baskets.

The Bobcats are a good team as they proved in their loss to Illinois and are another team you need to pay attention to come March.
