6. Is Florida State the favorite in the ACC?

Last year the Seminoles won the ACC regular-season title despite not many people even realizing it. Leonard Hamilton’s team was heading into the NCAA tournament looking like a real final four threat.

This year they were supposed to take a step back while North Carolina and Duke were supposed to be back at the top. Virginia was also supposed to be a top-ten team after a “down year” last season.

North Carolina still looks to be better than last year, but losses to Texas and Iowa make them seem a little less dangerous. Virginia got upset by San Francisco in a shocking result. Does this mean they can’t win the ACC? No, but it does seem to make them seem vulnerable.

Duke has looked just ok, even in their wins. Could it be the lack of fans at Cameron Indoor? Maybe, but the Blue Devils losing games at home is not normal.

Through all the chaos that has happened, the Seminoles have beat a good Indiana team and then took down a good Florida team.

The Seminoles have looked like the best ACC team outside of possibly Clemson who has also been impressive. There is starting to be a changing of the guard in the ACC and Florida State is trying to take full advantage.

Is it a product of the ACC being down or the Seminoles becoming a top tier team? We will get that answer as the season goes along, but right now it looks like Florida State would be the best bet to win the conference.
