Missouri

In recent years, the SEC has seen the rise and development of several previously dormant programs. We’ve seen great strides from Auburn and Tennessee, South Carolina was Just in a Final Four, and Alabama has looked magnificent this season. In a year when Kentucky is very down, the rest of the league has to take advantage and Missouri certainly has.

The Tigers had a pair of home games this week and certainly helped their cause with two big wins. Dru Smith scored 26 points on Wednesday as Missouri took down Kentucky, handing the Wildcats yet another loss. On Saturday, the Tigers got their third top-10 win of the season, dropping #10 Alabama with another fine effort from Smith and company.

There have been ups and downs for this Missouri team, but they are now 13-3 and 6-3 in the SEC. They were finally able to hand Alabama its first conference loss and also own key wins over Illinois and Tennessee. These Tigers struggled in losses to Mississippi State and Auburn in January, but have shown they are a top contender when on their game.

A very winnable stretch of games looms for Missouri, but which Tigers team will show up? When they play together and with consistency, the Tigers truly are one of the top teams in the nation and have shown it. How will that play out in winnable games against Ole Miss, Georgia, and the like in the coming weeks?
