Mac McClung, Adam Miller among top 20 new available NCAA Basketball transfers
14. F Joel Soriano – Fordham Rams
2020-21 stats: 10.4 ppg and 9.2 rpg
The 6’11 and 250-pound big man broke out as a leading big man in the Atlantic 10, producing eight double-doubles in 14 games played. Soriano’s offense improved as a post scorer as well, going for at least eight points in all but two games.
The junior forward isn’t a shot blocker but is a solid interior defender overall. There aren’t many power conference big men available, which is why the native New Yorker has gotten a fair amount of interest.
13. G Rasir Bolton – Iowa State Cyclones
2020-21 stats: 15.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, and 3.9 apg
The All-Big 12 guard has proven to be a talented scorer, just on bad teams. Bolton had four games of 20+ points this past season and reached double figures in all but four games. The 6’3 guard struggled from deep at just 31% shooting but elevated his passing and defense overall, making him an all-around asset.
With Iowa State’s best scorer now in the portal, it’ll be interesting to see if he picks a smaller role at a better program or looks to remain the top dog at a smaller program. At the right spot, Bolton can be an underrated pickup that proves to be vital for a contending team.
