Ranking the 7 options for class of 2022 and top-10 prospect F Kijani Wright

Stanford Cardinal
Nobody can take away the tremendous job head coach Jerod Haase has done recruiting elite talent to the program. After securing the commitments of 2021 5-star wing Harrison Ingram and highlight-reel playmaker Isa Silva at the point guard spot, the Cardinal are looking to right the ship next season. Haase is on the verge of sending a player to the NBA ranks as a sophomore or younger (2018 – KZ Okpala, 2019 – Tyrell Terry, 2020 – Ziaire Williams) and in fact, his success in this area has stunted the overall growth of the team during this time.
With Ingram in the fold next year, Haase has a legitimate shot at extending his NBA-streak. However, the hopes are that the rest of the roster is able to develop enough to complement these new pieces and lift the Cardinal to the top of the Pac-12. Being in Wright’s “general” backyard, you have to think he has a decent chance of pulling the talented forward to the northern part of the state especially when there are familiar faces associated with the program.
Isa Silva was also a product of the Compton Magic family and has in-roads with someone like Wright desiring the same balance of “athletics and academics”. Joining the program a year ahead of time gives Wright an inside view of how things operate and what to look forward to prior to making his decision.
To add to the attractiveness of Stanford as an elite academic university is the success and production frontcourt players have garnered under Haase over the last five years. In each of those seasons since taking over the program, Haase’s top scoring threat has been in the frontcourt and he has provided significant flexibility to those players to make things happen for his program. The same should be expected of Wright.
