Pittsburgh Panthers

The Panthers have been long looking for a true center to utilize and have missed out on a few targets. When they lost star forward Justin Champagnie, the team recovered and landed JUCO forward Chris Payton, who averaged a double-double at Indian Hills last season.

Pittsburgh does have John Hugley set to return after dealing with legal troubles but there’s still a need for frontcourt depth if they’re going to compete in the ACC. Curry likely would start here and be a focal point of the offense, but the odds of making the NCAA Tournament still wouldn’t be high.

Seton Hall Pirates

The Pirates were a finalist for Curry in the first go-around, so there’s already a history between the sides. With Sandro Mamukelashvili officially gone and freshman big man Jeff Ngandu transferred out, the center position is still a big need for them to address. They do have rising senior center Ike Obiagu, coming off a career year of 4.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg, and 2.9 blocks per game as the starting center but he played just 22 mpg and likely won’t be able to play much more than that next season.

Adding Curry would give Seton Hall someone that can play the extra 18 mpg at the center position and he can play a bit at the power forward spot too. The depth will be a benefit and with All-Big East wing Jared Rhoden back and some key transfers coming in, this possible addition could vault the Pirates up towards the top tier of the conference.
