Michigan Wolverines

Viewed as one of the favorites in Rodgers’ recruitment, the Wolverines are hoping that the prospect will not only want to stay local but play for a top-10 program in the country. The team landed the No. 1 overall recruiting class for 2021, led by five-star frontcourt players, Moussa Diabaté and Caleb Houston. There also is a trio of guards ranked in the top-75 overall.

Assuming Houston is gone after one year, the wing position for Michigan would be nearly open for Rodgers to join and get immediate playing time. What helps the team here is that there are plenty of forwards and guards but not wings after both Isaiah Livers and Franz Wagner went pro this offseason.

Michigan State Spartans

With No. 1 overall class of 2022 recruit Emoni Bates now out of the picture, the Spartans will be looking for a wing in next year’s class, as Gabe Brown could potentially be gone next offseason. This is another local option that likely won’t be down long after a rare off campaign.

Michigan State does have a top-10 incoming recruiting class, led by five-star guard Max Christie and four-star guard Pierre Brooks. If Christie comes back for more than one year, he could play at the wing spot but Rodgers still could get into the rotation even as a freshman. Of course, that could change if another five-star prospect comes Coach Tom Izzo’s way.
